What is tear out slot?
Essentially the profile comes with a smooth face, i.e with no slots showing. However the normal slot channel has been ‘etched’ so that the material can be nipped and removed with a set of pliers or similar (see image below). This retains the smooth, aesthetic face of a channel-less profile where required, but still allows the slot to be utilised to add cross members or accessories at the specific spot on the profile where you need it, whilst retaining the smooth face everywhere else. It is particularly useful for areas where a clean and hygienic surface is necessary. This means the 45×90 tear out profile is ideal for use as workstations and workbenches in clean room, medical, pharmaceutical, laboratory and electronics assembly, testing or manufacturing areas.
